I called the Dolphin Hotel this afternoon to talk to the manager.
Funny thing: they don't have a manager right now. Overmeyer died of heart failure about a week ago, after spending nearly three months in intensive care. It seems he had a rather sudden heart attack on November 19th. Which, and here's an even funnier thing, is the same day I got haled into the house.
The acting manager's a guy name of Goodwin, and I have no idea if he's got a clue.
If I'm duplicating your own research here, now's the time to tell me.

I agree that careful thought is needed before engaging anything like this. It's never been our practice to involve ourselves into Mr. King's narratives before--think of the meta-narrative complications. Let's let things resolve on their own.

I thought we agreed in our December board meeting that with the resolution of the Dark Tower narrative we were going try and move our business more firmly into the private sector. Haven't we indulged Ms. McGee enough with this Taos business?

I second Julio. We're observors, not protagonists. Let's stay clear.

Okay, so like Cujo? Or Needful Things?
We can't count on King to sort this out. We don't even know that this is a narrative issue--he's working on that comic book these days.

All I'm saying is that I think this a step in the wrong direction for us, a step back towards involvement in mystical weirdness and things that could be dangerous to us all. Where's the profit in that?

A step away from selling out, you mean?
So do you take a private elevator from the basement and avoid the lobby altogether, Liz, or what? I think Ms. McGee is going off half-cocked, but have you forgotten what we got into this business for?

For your information I've been working at home since the baby was born.
And *I* got into this business to make money, not so my stairs could... hiccup, and throw me down the last four steps.
If we proceed in this direction, I AM OUT. And the Tristero merger goes with me.
